About Fireclay Ventures

David Burford is co-founder of Fireclay Ventures, bringing fifteen years of investment banking experience, including time at Raymond James and Baird. His work has included sell-side and buy-side mandates across sectors, with primary coverage in industrials and oil and gas.

A Marine Corps veteran, David earned a BA from the University of Missouri and an MBA and MS in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He is also Managing Director of Fireclay Partners, a boutique M&A advisory firm, and a principal at Fireclay Capital.

David is based in Missouri with his better half and their houseful of kids. He holds a lifelong loyalty to the Royals and Chiefs, and spends what time he can outdoors or traveling with his family.

Robbie is managing partner at Fireclay Ventures and leads the operator work through positioning, go-to-market strategy, and creation of the artifacts founders raise on.

Robbie holds a BFA in Commercial Art from the University of Central Missouri. Across 16+ years in cybersecurity and tech marketing departments, he brings a breadth of experience through multiple rebrands, mergers, and raises across various startups, corporations, and consulting.

While Robbie resides in Rhode Island, he also holds affinity and loyalty to the KC Royals and Chiefs, although waves a Commanders banner when the matchup happens.
